Emotions may feel irrational, but I think there is always a reason for them. It just takes honesty with yourself, your triggers, your past experiences that cause those seemingly irrational responses. We're all programmed by our own memories.

maybe so but from my experience with him i'm sure you're gonna find more examples of him not understanding or refusing to understand than i care to mention
i get what you mean, i just don't wanna end up confusing him by saying shit that contradicts what you're trying to teach him though maybe having two different perspectives on how emotions work might help

Don't worry about it, though. You're trying, too. It doesn't matter to me what method works, if one of us manages some kind of breakthrough.
