Giant and purple seems to be a Decepticon favorite. He's not a dinosaur too, is he?

[For a long moment, Duo goes silent, mostly because he just pulled his comm away and is staring at it.]

[Finally, he manages to stutter back into it] --He. What!?

No, he's a tank with dual fusion cannons. You know that thing Megatron has? He has two.

It's his outlier ability. After the other members of the DJD were done torturing someone, Tarn would talk to them until their spark exploded. Being electrocuted by Kaon, melted by Helex... it's nothing compared to Tarn talking to you.

Anyway, I encountered him in human form and he-- I don't know how he did it, but I felt it. God, if he knows about--

Shin, I need you to make up all these back up plans to protect Tailgate. Tailgate only. Don't factor me into them, use me as fodder if you need to. The only thing Barney has, far as I knew, were some mean chompers and a wannabe Machiavelli complex. [Duo snorts, but 'dual fusion cannons' is no fucking joke. Even if he's not entirely familiar with the technology, if he can mentally equate it to something like an anti-colony laser or the Buster Rifle, it's big trouble.]

[But guns were guns. That he could handle. This other ability was the real worry. Duo's not even sure how to respond to this- talking you to death? He could almost make a joke if it wasn't so uncomfortably close in a sense to other imPort methods of killing he knew of.]

[At least it wasn't a fucking notebook.] He tried to-- did you get away? Was he testing it on you? [He's keeping a calm enough voice, as much as he can, but everything about this was bad. A dangerous passive ability that didn't require the killed to be nearby, or even see his target, and already with a trail of bodies to worry about.]

[Riptide's plea doesn't fall on deaf ears, but Duo feels a slight fatigue of helplessness at it nonetheless. What's he supposed to do against an enemy like this? Physically outmatched in every sense, not even a mobile suit to match up to them. And beyond that, a power like this even as a humanoid...]

[Is this how he felt, he wonders, playing a game with a an unknown enemy from afar with lives in the balance? --Ah, but he wouldn't have cared, would he. Duo supposes that's where he fails to measure up.]

[Maybe in another era, when he was younger, or before the City, Duo would have protested, would have refused to throw a friend into the line of fire even at his own behest for the good of the majority. Now, years later, with the lines of peace and war drawn and the measures it took to protect them, he can only feel a resigned sense of fate, the usual fate people around him met.]

Obviously I got away, or I'd be dead. Maybe he was, I don't know. He was at the Swear-In so he could've just been trying out his new body.
