[Well. He agrees with Archie there, but not exactly for the same reasons... Still, he's trying not to let his politics show too much.] That's another question of the responsibilities of mind control, isn't it? Does what you did count as manslaughter, or should you be found unfit to be tried, under a plea of insanity? That's a question that a jury should deliberate, or a supreme court. Instead, it's been simply waved off, hasn't it.
[He's not trying to make Archie feel worse; but those were the facts. ImPort crimes were simply looked over, shrugged off. A slap on the wrist- if that.]
I'm not a fan of how imPort's crimes are handled in this world, but with the variety of circumstances and powers at play, I must also admit it's difficult to form a blanket justice for our ilk. That doesn't mean nothing should be done.
Maybe that's what those who agreed with Dooku were intending, even if his personal dog in the race was based in greed.
[like the nice priest was part of it?? whomst are you. what are you suggesting. archie assumes duo spends his time reading the bible and lecturing kids or whatever the fuck.]
yeah i get you
you think it'll be the same? even if all the shit he's saying is true?
[Heeey, he doesn't lecture them! He's the fun priest.]
I hope it won't. Even if it has to be because the government wants to make an example of him, his crimes are severe enough that something ought to be done.
[And that'll have the convenient side-effect of showing him just where the government's priorities lie.]
Then I guess [we take matters into our own hands] we see what the politicos might do with it.
If they really want to send the message of 'yes, please, overthrow our government, we'll do almost nothing to stop you'- hey, I'm not going to tell them how to live their lives.
For others to try? No, I don't think catalyst is the right word. He was the loudest and most visible, and perhaps the best organized yet, but I'm sure other dissenters have been present much longer.
If you mean for the government to crack down on imPort rabble-rousing, well, that's the reaction I'm waiting to see they'll take or not.
It's possible he himself was being used. In any case, I wouldn't rest easy thinking that he's the end of it.
Well, I've just got done giving you my thoughts on it, but I think every imPort should form their own opinions on matters like this, without too much influence.
I won't say I don't think you need to care, but some people have more on their plate than others. [Like, maybe worry about your pressing emotional issues before worrying about drastic cosmic consequences, Archie.]
that would be twist if dookie was being used by the actual government here though it can only go back so far, right?
my thoughts begin and end pretty much at drinking a glass of red wine and shaking my head at the news reporting it before changing the channel
though i did think dooku was a good person for a time did you know i hugged him once? anyway he helped maxie get a job so i'll talk to maxie to make sure he didn't bring it with any of the caveats that he did for me though i did say to him i'd owe him instead of maxie idk this is stupid
[Duo had ...thought of that, that there was a government mole within the Constellation, but he has his doubts that any such mole led to this result. This, he's fairly sure- between his contact with these "Phantom Thieves" and Adachi- is the result of good old fashioned internal imPort sabotage.]
[Which is far less worrisome.]
It's possible, I guess. I sure hope not, given what that would mean for the rest of us. But I feel like if they intended to make an example of him from the start, things wouldn't have gotten to this point, exactly. Making an example of him now makes their case more genuine, as well. One can hope.
Some unsolicited advice, keep it that way. This junk's tiring.
One year mark is just enough to have the whole run of the imPort experience under your belt, mindfucks included.
By this point you're entering the 'acceptance' phase, where you push through all your acquired traumas, slow on the breakdowns and exit out the other side into a kind of grumbling and tortured acceptance. Love isn't dead yet, but it's pretty damn close.
It's alright, we all get there when we last enough.
Re: text
not sure how i feel abt it
how much do you figure is true?
Re: text
That's not the issue really, the issue is if he's going to be held legally responsible you can't use a confession that's forced.
Hard to say when it comes to imPort abilities what counts as forced but I'd say this probably toes the line. It's a problem.
Re: text
i don't know
i got the shit beat out of me for forced confessions before, so
Re: text
Yeah? Join the club. In a civilized court, that sort of thing doesn't hold.
I guess we'll see how it's handled by this government.
Re: text
it's a lot?
i just thought he was kind of grumpy...
you say that like there are any civilized courts here. i should be in jail for what i did with that relic, but i'm not.

i dont know how i feel

Okay, but serious question:
How did you not die?
Re: text
i'm not sure actually i barely remember it
Re: text
That's still not death, so I guess technically 'mindwipe' is an answer.
Re: text
it was just
a while ago
Re: text
Re: text
seriously
Re: text
How long you been here?
Re: text
